Provides comprehensive study in the kind of communication Japanese business situations require. Students will learn basic Japanese expressions for use in self introductions, business telephone conversation, honorific language in business, business e-mails, and business etiquette. Students will also learn methods for logically and concisely expressing themselves through short speeches.

Students think about how to give self introductions that leave an impression, and explain their name in such a way that people remember. |

Students choose one theme and explain it in detail. They also learn how to explain kanji used in names. |

Students learn how to express their feelings and use that knowledge in conversation. They also learn how to answer phones and what to do when the person they're calling is unavailable. |

Students choose one theme and explain it in detail. Students learn how to answer phones and how to leave messages. |

Students consider two themes and express which they think is better. They also learn the basics of honorific language such as sonkeigo and kenjogo. |

Students look at pictures and articulate their thoughts. They also learn often-used formal expressions not taught in Honorifics (1). |

Teaching materials and lesson formats
Every lesson will proceed according to a few pages of printed materials. In the first half of the lesson, you will practice giving a speech to become more effective at articulating your thoughts. In the latter half, you will practice conversation through role playing and other activities on topics such as phone calls, business etiquette, and honorific language.
