Introductory Japanese Course 20 Lessons

This beginner course has been designed for students just starting their Japanese studies, or those who wish to prepare for life in Japan in a short amount of time. Learn Japanese phrases often used for shopping and in restaurants, with English language support. The course is perfect for those just starting life in Japan or who want to try out studying Japanese.

Learners that wish to study Japanese from the basics in a more structured approach are urged to follow this course with the Japanese Beginner I course.

Elementary Japanese Course Ⅰ 20 Lessons

It helps students learn the basics of Japanese so that they can use set phrases for daily life situations as well as to actively engage in various conversations, such as talking with friends and co-workers about what they did on the weekend and offering help to someone.　
　The course is structured so that you can learn the basic Japanese grammar without difficulty while taking the steps from the shorter conversation to the longer conversation. Once you learn the basic grammar, you can apply it in other situations and say what you want to talk about.

Elementary Japanese Course Ⅱ 20 Lessons

It teaches expressions that can be used to give basic advice to friends or coworkers on subjects familiar to you, and expressions for simply explaining problems so that you can find solutions to trouble you face.

The course empowers you to firmly develop your Japanese communication skills by building up the fundamentals step by step and by practicing aloud sentences that challenge you to apply the expressions you have learned.

Business Japanese Intermediate Course Ⅰ 20 Lessons

This course represents the next level above the Japanese Elementary CourseⅠ. It is designed to help learners proficient in basic everyday conversational Japanese to expand their range of communication by introducing them to expressions used in typical interactions with coworkers and to simple exchanges that take place in business settings. Since learners build up their knowledge of early intermediate patterns, words, and expressions while reviewing elementary fundamentals, they become able to discuss slightly complex topics and resolve issues in Japanese, even in situations involving multiple exchanges.

Business Japanese
Intermediate Course Ⅱ 20 Lessons

This course is targeted at learners who have acquired conversational skills at the early intermediate level. It is designed to help them communicate at a slightly advanced level where they are able to match their use of honorifics and expressions to the situation or listener. It teaches patterns and expressions used in everyday interactions with coworkers and in business-related exchanges with people inside and outside one's company. The aim is to enable learners to more smoothly perform their jobs through effective use of Japanese.

General Business Japanese Course 20 Lessons

Provides comprehensive study in the basic etiquette, honorific language, and internal/external communication, which are indispensable in the Japanese business world. Students will learn a good balance between the Japanese etiquette necessary for effective communication, and practical Japanese expressions used in emails and on the phone. In the “Brushing Up on Japanese” sections, students will review and practice pronunciation and grammar, improving their fundamental Japanese skills, while also learning how to logically and concisely express themselves through short speeches.

This course provides intensive study in ways to handle phone calls (calling, receiving, transferring, etc.) in business situations. They will also learn methods for logically and concisely expressing themselves through short speeches.

Honorific Language in Business 10 Lessons

This course provides intensive training in honorific language, an essential element of business situations. Students will get a thorough grounding in the differences among sonkeigo, kenjogo, and teineigo, and how to use each. Beginning with the uniquely Japanese concepts of uchi and soto, this practical course will teach students methods for using honorifics often used inside and outside companies, honorifics often used when speaking with clients, and methods for conveying delicate matters tactfully.

Business Etiquette Course 10 Lessons

This course teaches verbal etiquette through useful expressions and greetings used in business situations and gives instruction in behavioral etiquette concerning areas such as appearance and dealing with customers. Through a focus on the proper way to exchange business cards and etiquette for handling visitors and clients, as well as seating order for a variety of situations, this course aims to give students grounding in appropriate behavior for shakaijin (working adults) in Japan.

Business E-mail Course 10 Lessons

Students will first learn about the e-mail format used in Japanese business situations. They will then study the differences between writing internal and external e-mails in order to request, ask questions, report, apologize, or decline. Additionally, students will acquire the fundamentals of writing notices, invoices, and other documents used in business.

Practical Business Japanese Course I 10 Lessons

This practical course is designed for those who have about three years of work experience in a Japanese company. The goal of this course is for students to be able to use more sophisticated Japanese expressions in their daily work in the company while taking actions that are considerate of others in situations such as internal and external coordination and negotiation. Students will also learn about idiomatic phrases commonly used in business situations and formal expressions appropriate for the occasion to improve their Japanese language skills.
