Business Japanese Advanced Course

This course is designed to develop advanced business Japanese skills. In the first half, participants strengthen their ability to explain ideas clearly and logically. In the second half, they learn expressions and techniques commonly required in real business situations, such as giving presentations, writing meeting minutes, and conducting negotiations and adjustments.
Through practical exercises, the course aims to help learners acquire high-level Japanese proficiency that can be applied directly to their work.

Lesson Topic Objective
1 Company Introduction / Small Talk Learn how to speak in a clear and engaging way when introducing your company. Practice effective small talk to help business proceed smoothly.
2 Improving Explanatory Skills (1): Explaining Work / Reporting Learn and practice effective structures for explaining tasks and giving reports. Also learn how to make explanations clearer by using appropriate transitional expressions.
3 Improving Explanatory Skills (2): Making Proposals / Expressing Opinions Learn and practice effective structures for presenting proposals and expressing opinions. Focus on organizing information so that it is easy for the listener to understand.
4 Improving Explanatory Skills (3): Explaining Research / Analysis Results Learn and practice effective structures for explaining research and analysis results, tailored to the audience and content. Pay attention to sentence and paragraph organization for more advanced explanatory skills.
5 Presentation Skills Learn and practice presentations with clear structure and logical flow. Also practice adding supplementary explanations and emphasizing key points during the presentation.
6 Meeting Minutes (1): Using AI for Minutes Learn essential items and useful expressions for creating meeting minutes. Also learn how to organize and revise minutes generated by AI.
7 Meeting Minutes (2) Learn and practice techniques for listening to and noting key points in meetings with a pre-set
agenda. Additionally, learn how to orally share or report the meeting content to others.
8 Negotiation & Coordination (Internal) Learn expressions and methods to defer decisions and consult with supervisors or colleagues.
Practice communicating your requests and finding compromises without making the other party
uncomfortable.
9 Negotiation & Coordination (External) Learn expressions and techniques for coordinating politely and professionally with external parties—such as clients and business partners—without causing discomfort. In addition, students will learn how to write confirmation emails related to negotiation or coordination details.
10 Confirmation test and review Take a confirmation test (about 10 questions) of the course contents and review the course.

Teaching materials and lesson procedures

Each lesson is conducted using several handouts that serve as a structured guide throughout the session. At the outset, the instructor and the student review the day's theme and the corresponding learning objectives (Can‑do statements). The student then engages in situational tasks or role‑plays, followed by a systematic review of key expressions and vocabulary, along with targeted feedback aimed at enhancing communicative effectiveness. Finally, as a closing activity, the student completes additional tasks or role‑plays to reflect on and consolidate the skills and knowledge acquired during the lesson.
