During my student years, I spent one year studying abroad in Germany. Living overseas for the first time as a foreigner made me aware of the existence of “Japanese as a foreign language.” This experience helped me begin to view both Japan as a country and the Japanese language more objectively.
After getting married, I changed my field of study and entered graduate school, where I specialized in the meanings and nuances of language.
Today, I enjoy collecting stuffed animals with my daughter, and I am also a fan of ARASHI. My motto is to respectfully value each learner’s unique perspective on language and the world, and to carefully support them in developing a style of Japanese that feels natural to them.

Baba sensei is an experienced instructor who has taught Japanese to international students from many different countries and regions at the university level. She uses Japanese that is tailored to the learner’s proficiency level and goals, allowing students to participate in lessons with confidence.
She is skilled at recognizing learners’ strengths and growth and expressing them in words, helping them stay motivated and maintain a positive attitude toward learning. She also clearly explains differences and nuances between similar expressions, using concrete examples so learners can apply them in real conversations.
